We believe that this holster was original for large calibred pistol, possible a Browning 1903 or similar size, before it was modified to fit something a little smaller. The modification was done a very long time ago. The holster shows great age. It is most likely a pre WWII holster that was captured and converted to suit the needs of that country. The addition of an extra flap tang would suggest use by tank/vehicle or aircrews. It will fit various types and sizes of pistols such as a Tokarev TT33 or CZ27, both fit comfortably.
