Rare First Year of Manufacture Springfield M1905 Bayonet & Scabbard

This is a very rare first year of production US M1905 bayonet with its early wooden type I scabbard. The bayonet is dated 1906 and was made by the Springfield Armoury who also made the M1903 rifle. Their records show that in 1906 they had produced 150,449 rifles. Bayonet production that year would have been significantly lower. The canvas cover looks to be more contemporary. The bayonet fits the WW1 American M1903 rifle that saw service in both world wars.
