Product Information

This is a rare WWII Nazi K.P.Sprengpatrone or model Z, meaning 'gun battle' aluminium grenade cartridge. The German's realised that flare pistols could also be utilised as affective handguns/grenade launchers if capable of firing live ammunition. Using existing stocks of these flare pistols and by simply adding a rifled barrel gave them this capability. These pistols were called Sprengpatrone or model Z. The pistols themselves are rare as so few were converted/made. The projectiles are rarely seen as they are often presumed to be for something completely different. They are very unusual and are actually a grenade round rather than a bullet. There are several different types, this particular type has a Bakelite button or tip and external rifling. The base has the correct Nazi code and ink stamped markings.
