This is a rare Second World War German Navy - Kriegsmarine marked and coded 3,7cm 30 ST Shell. The brass shell is 1941 and has lots of crisp clear markings. Just visible on the base in the 3 o'clock position is the Nazi Eagle with naval acceptance stamp III/3. The warhead has remnants of the original wartime paint. The fuse is also navy marked and dated with the correct Nazi codes. This round was used on German battleships that were fitted with 37mm Flak guns. Very few now survive as the majority of German naval hardware was either sunk in battle or scuttled at the end of the war with all munitions on board.
