Product Information

This is a rare German manufactured 1796 Pattern British Cavalry sword with its steel scabbard. The makers name is P. Knecht in Solingen (Germany). The blade has the British military acceptance stamp and two broad arrow stamps or crows feet facing each over. This means that it was sold out of service after leaving military ownership and could be privately purchased.The blade measure 33 inches (840cm) and is in very good original condition. The hand guard has a simple stirrup form with a single iron knucklebow and quillon. The grip is wood covered with leather. The scabbard has both hoops and over 95% of its grey painted finish.
