This is a rare British Navy marked Pattern 1888 Bayonet & Scabbard. It will fit the Metford / MLE  / Long Lee. The capital N was only applied in this manner to Royal Navy service weapons. The struck out numbers and N would indicate it was issued and then reissued several times during its service life. It is an early pattern design with brass riveted handle and hole drilled through above the first brass rivet.
