This is a very unusual WWII Nazi K98 bayonet & scabbard. Both are marked with Nazi acceptance stamp WaA883. This code was used by a number of bayonet manufactures before and during wartime production. Unusually both bayonet and scabbard have a lack of makers markings and also have unique serialisations. The location of the serial numbers is also different from those found on standard military issued bayonets and would indicate that they were issued to the Nazi Prussian Police. On the bayonet G71, the letter G = Gumbinnen district, weapon no 71, and on the scabbard F=Frenkfurt (Oder) district, weapon no 18. The bayonet has early wood grips and is still in very good original condition. Both have their wartime finish.
