This is scarce Webley MKIII flare pistol stiff leather holster. It is designed to carry the First World War MKIII brass flare pistol without the barrel trumpet extension. It was made by BH & G.21. Originally it had a leather carry strap that has long since been removed, because it has a belt hoop attachment. It may well have been used to house a Webley .455 revolver. A WWII Berridge No5 flare pistol will also fit.
