Product Information

This is a very rare First World War dated US M1903 rifle leather sling. Both parts of the sling are maker marked "Hoyt" 1918 J.J.M.", but more importantly and rarely seen is the Canadian acceptance stamp - capital C with a broad arrow stamp within. This means that this sling was issued to British Common Wealth forces during the latter stages of the Great War. During WWI Canadian forces were issued with the Ross, P14 and SMLE rifles in standard form and as sniper rifles. This sling would have been fitted to one of these rifles. British snipers also used the same sling on the No4 T sniper rifle during WWII.

The overall condition is still excellent. The leather is still supple and strong and can still be fitted and used on a rifle.
