This is a rare 1915 dated British SMLE bayonet scabbard leather frog. Just visible is the makers name "W.WOOD & SON Ltd" . Above this is the British broad arrow acceptance stamp with numbers "120". Very few of this early wartime frogs now exit. Due to the horrendous condition in the trenches leather equipment simply didn't weather well and most have long since perished. This is example is in perfect working order with its intact fastening strap and buckle.
