Product Information

This is a rare, very early production number Broadhurst Clarkson MkIIs Scout Regiment Telescope, dated 1940 with Broad Arrow stamp. Introduced in 1939 at the outbreak of WW2, it was soon being supplied as an integral part of the snipers No4T chest kit, along with the modified Lee Enfield No4(T) rifle, matched scope, compass etc. The scope proved outstanding for target acquisition with its 20x optical range and became an essential tool in the snipers kit.

This particular scope could be the earliest known example in existence bearing the serial number 247. A previously identified earliest example was serial number 1763, making this an exceedingly early piece. Only a few of this Mk of scope were produced before the nomenclature changed to include the stamp “OS.126 GA” with a lozenge logo, rather than the written Broadhurst Clarkson makers name as seen here.

Complete with its original leather carry case and in overall lovely condition with a good smooth drawer action, this would make a fascinating and scarce addition to any collection.
