Product Information

This is rare WWII German M43 stick grenade with fragmentation sleeve and securing ring. The handle and head are both maker marked "fcc 44" = Nier, Hermann, Metallwarenfabrik, Beierfeld in Sachsen 1944, and the fuse "awj 44 = The Yale u. Towne Manufacturing u. Company, Velbert 1944. This model of "Potato Masher" grenade was introduced in 1943 as a simpler version of the M24. The pull cord system was eliminated from the design and solid wooden handle used instead. The fuse was mounted on top of the head to self detonate the grenade.
