This is a rare WWII German portable reading lamp and cord. It could be strapped to the head using the elasticated strap and was powdered by a small electrical power supply attached to the cord. The rubber shroud would project the light downwards and was used for reading maps and documents etc. They were used in a variety of rolling including artillerymen and navigators. This example is Nazi marked with the makers code and date plus the military acceptance stamp. It is mounted on a felt covered board and is believed to have once been a museum display piece.
