Product Information

This is a genuine Second World War Nazi ZF41 scope, mount and case that was brought back by a serving British solider. All parts are original and completely untouched. The scope was used on a K98 equipped with a ZF41 rail mount. These rifles are often incorrectly referred to as sniper rifles but are in fact sharpshooter rifles. A letter of provenance has been supplied by the daughter of the solider outlining her father's service history and movements during WWII. He joined the Royal Artillery in August 1940 and was involved in the D-Day landing in June 1944. During his time in Europe he travelled through Germany, France, Belgium and Holland. He brought back a number of items including this scope with its case and contents. Also included are two pictures of him and his regiment. On the back of one of the photographs there are the names of everyone pictured including the gentleman in question. Plus there is his "Record of Service" card.

The scope was manufactured by CXN (Emil Busch AG, Optische Industrie, Rathenow) and the mount is correctly marked "duv" with a military acceptance stamp Eagle over 214. The scope also has both its original rain shields fitted. The mount clamps are numbered to the mount. The case is numbered to the scope (very rare to find) and carries the correct markers code "jvb" (Wessel & Müller, Beschlagfabrik Waffen) with acceptance stamp eagle over WaA542. Incredibly the case still has the original cloth and brush!

Very rare to find such a complete set with comprehensive provenance.
