This is an original WWII German Luftwaffe (airforce) 15mm Air Craft Round. All parts are dated 1942 and all are Luftwaffe marked. This round/calibre was the main armament of the early Messerschmitt Bf 109F-2 fighters. In 1941 the cannon was redesigned as the 20 mm MG 151/20. The different coloured bands on the projectile refer to the contents and type. Tracer, incendiary etc. A rare find.
