This is a rare early production K98 leather sling with serrated locking pin heads. These were the first type of K98 slings to be issued. This design was later changed as the serrations were known to cause marks to K98 stocks. Large quantities of these were rebuilt with the serrated pins replaced for non-seraated pins. Equally rare is the leather stopper with early brass keeper button which has a special German unit marking numbers (41.). This was only added after it had been assigned to a regiment or unit. Comes complete with buckle, stopper and leather adjuster hoop.
