This is superb condition Third Reich issued German Fire Fighter dagger with its steel scabbard. The maker is Carl Henkel, Bielefield. The overall condition is excellent. Under the regime of the Third Reich, civilian organisations, such as the fire department and police had a para-military nature. They were often seen as an extension of the Nazi party. As such, they were also issued blades such as the one featured here. The Third Reich placed alot of emphasis in ensuring that the members of the various organizations felt pride and belonging to their organisations.
