This is a very rare WW1 imperial German Army M1915 stick hand grenade. The "Stielhandgranaten" first appeared in 1915 and was manufactured by many different companies during the Great War, both big and small, although the overall design and shape remained the same. The wording stamped into the wooden handle refers to 5.5 second fuse once the cord has been pulled. Very few of these early examples now survive.
