Product Information

An original First World War issued British officers field binoculars with its matched case. At the outbreak of the Great War the British Army expanded very rapidly, too rapidly and soon had a shortage of equipment. The British optics industry was relatively small so the army turned to French manufacturers to supplement this shortfall. These MKV SPL examples were supplied during the early stages of the Great War. Once received they were paired up with a British made case and given a designation and letter suffix. This is NO I letter H. The case was made by Oak Leather Goods Co in 1916 and has several owners names hand written on the base, most obvious R Gray 1963. The binoculars are in great overall condition with both lens covers in tact. The optics are very good and both lenses focus when adjusted.
