A very nice 1916 dated British 18 pound shell complete with fuse. Clearly marked with manufactures codes, ordnance markings and dates. The fuse was made by VSM -Vickers, Son & Maxim and is dated May 1916. This type of shell was filled with shrapnel and has a hollow projectile. Height is around 22.5 inches (57.5cm). May 1916 saw the beginning of the Battle of Jutland begin.
