Product Information

This is an original SMLE MKI brown leather sling complete with hoops and boot lace cord. Just visible is part of the makers initials G.H.R. and date of 1916. These early leather slings pre date 1913 when the first canvas or web slings took over as the new military issue sling. Production continued throughout WWI as there was a shortage of both types. They were fitted to various other British rifles and carbines during the war, including Long Lee's and Martini Henry's as well as the SMLE. This one would look great displayed on an early SMLE. Very few now exist as they did not far well in the horrendous conditions of WW1.
