This is a WWI German Ersatz Bayonet. The ersatz bayonets were first manufactured during the early part of World War One before standardise models were introduced. Many different makers produced various types and designs. This particular one has the imperial army acceptance stamps and still has the renmants of the original green field paint on the handle. Another unusual feature is the extra slot that exposes the cleaning rod channel. The blad measures 29.8cm. The bayonet was original designed to fit the Gew98.
