Product Information

This is rare First World War dated Lithgow 1907 Pattern SMLE bayonet with scabbard. Lithgow only produced around 100,000 SMLE rifles from 1913 to 1918. Bayonet produced would have been to a similar low output level. This example is dated 1917 with unit numbers on the pommel. R-52 most  likely refers to rework or Replacement in 1952 which would indicate that this bayonet not only survived WWI but was also in use during WWII before requiring repair by the armory. Note that it does not have an oil hole in the pommel, this is only found on pre 1922 production examples.
