Product Information

A superb WWI Vickers machine gun Range Finding No12 MKIII* * scope with case and tripod. A fabulous set in its original wooden transit chest with WWI dated tripod and rare rubber eye piece. The range finder was manufactured by Barr & Stroud Ltd with 1908 & 1909 patent numbers. The tripod stand was made by Houghton & Butcher MFG Co. Ltd in 1918. Both finder and stand are broad arrow marked and in original condition. The scope has its carry strap and lens covers. The wooden chest is also in great condition with all straps and catches in good working order. Internally the case is in similar condition and still has the paper instructions label and brass attachment rod in the lid compartment.

They were used by machine gun crews to calculate the distance / trajectory of targets during both world wars.
