WWII No4 MKII Bayonet & Scabbard manufactured by BEC - Baird Engineering Company of Belfast, Northern Ireland, who only produced approximately 101,103 bayonets from 1942–1944. Very few in overall numbers when other companies were making millions. Scabbard is by Shield Steel Products (S.S.P.) and is dated 1944. BEC bayonets were made to a much higher standard and finish and secured the spike to the socket using a steel pin rather than the more common way of welding.
