This is a WWII dated Bren gun wooden transit chest. This chest was issued with a Canadian Inglis manufactured Bren gun. The makers initials are "D.S.L." followed by 1943 as the year on manufacture. The letter C with a /I\ within is that of Canada. This chest would have been shipped over to Europe from Canada during the war. Many failed to make it to Europe due to the heavy loses inflicted on merchant shipping by German U-boats. Still in very good original condition throughout with all catches, hinges and handles in tact. Internally all the various compartments are as they should be and are in great condition.
