A WWII dated British 75mm Wooden Practice Round. The base is marked JC Ltd 1944 with military broad arrow acceptance stamp. The 75mm was used on the Churchhill and Cromwell tanks during WWII. This shell would have been used by British tank crews whilst training and on military exercises. It is quite plausible that this actual shell was being used during the pre Normandy invasion build up. It is designed to be the same weight and dimensions as a live shell.
