An original WWII British "Blitz" era ARP wooden rattle. It was manufactured in 1939 by W. Clements & Sons and would have been issued to an ARP (Air Raid Precaution) warden. The rattle would be used to warn the public of an impending German Luftwaffe air raid. It is still in perfect working order.
