Product Information

This is a WWII British Bren gun MKI sustained fire tripod complete with anti aircraft attachments. Believed to be made by BSA it has no obvious makers mark, although it may be hidden beneath the several layers of military paint, but does have a British broad arrow acceptance stamp and the serial number R277. The elevation knob is the correct type fitted to British made examples and the leg locking handles all have casting numbers, again not seen on Australian or Canadian made tripods. An unusal feature is the flat surface forward of the leg mounting lug. This is normally scolloped or dished to allow for the fitment of an SMLE rifle for use as an emergency anti aircraft leg as illustrated in the final image.

It is fitted with graduated adjustable traversing and elevating mechanisms together with adjustable legs with correct clamps & mounting brackets. The tripod is pictured with a Bren fitted - this is not included. We have several deactivated Brens available if one is required.
