Product Information

This is a rare late WWII British Lee Enfield No.4 Mk. III spike bayonet with Bakelite scabbard. The MKIII was the final, and crudest of the No. 4 spike bayonets. The socket is fabricated by welding together seven steel sheets. This eliminated the socket forging process altogether and in turn increased production numbers. But only 196,200 were ever produced, all by Joseph Lucas Ltd, Birmingham under makers code M158. This code can be seen on top of the socket followed by a Broad Arrow acceptance stamp. The scabbard is also unusual and is made from Bakelite material.
