WWII aluminum German M31 mess kit. Originally the M31 (Kochgeschirr Modell 1931) mess kits were manufactured in aluminum but as the aluminum became more scarce they began to be manufactured from steel. Although in 1945 aluminum was used again to them. The kit has a removable top lid which serves double duty as a plate or frying pan.
