A WWII German Luftwaffe wrist or arm-band compass. The maker is Kadlec, Czechoslovakia, AK-39 stands for Armband-Kompass (wrist compass) of 1939. The Luftwaffe register number is FL 23235. Fl is an abbreviation for Fliegermaterial i.e. aeronautical materiel.It comes with its original soft leather strap with fastening. The compass looks to have lost a little of the oil inside but still works. This compass would have been worn by a German pilot of crew memeber during WWII.
