This is a battlefield recovered Nazi MG13 machine gun spare magazine transit box. It bears four different colours of paint. The most obvious is the Afrika korps desert finish, this is where it was recovered from. Still visible are the early drop winged Nazi acceptance stamps on the lid and lid catch. Its safe to say that this item has seen plenty of action.
