Rarely seen in the UK, a WWII US military M-227 signal lamp complete with carry bag, cable, tripod, shoulder stock, and goggles. The goggles come in their original card box with silica gel pack. The outer goggle box is dated 2-45 (February 1945). This device was used to allow for communications between two people at ranges over a mile at noon with neither of them needing to know Morse code. They were used by Airborne Pathfinders and could be used to give signals to approaching aircraft the location of the "Drop Zone". They can be seen in use by the Navy's 2nd Beach Battalion signalmen on Utah Beach during WWII. A great display item.
