This is a genuine US manufactured Colt 1849 Pocket percussion revolver, chambered in .31. In original condition with all matching numbers. They were used during the US Civil War (1861 to 1865) and proved to be a very successful model for Colt with production starting in 1850 and finishing in 1873 with around 325,000 being made. It has a 4 inch barrel and 5 shot capacity. Brass trigger guard and pistol grip with solid wood Walnut grips, case hardened frame, loading arm assembly and hammer and blued barrel and chambers. Still in good working order it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. This historic revolver is chambered in an antique obsolete calibre and can therefore be owned live without any form of license.
