Product Information

This is an early to mid 1800s British made percussion pistol. The barrel has British proof stamps and the calibre stamp "24". British made weapons that were supplied to the US during the Civil War (1861 to 1865), were often stamped "24" or "25" gauge marks that correspond to .58 and .577 calibre respectively.  This type of pistol was also often privately purchased by an individual. This is further supported  by the initials "AK" hand engraved on the under side of the brass trigger. This is almost certainly the owners initials. The wood work is exceptional and exhibits a lovely deep figuring throughout and sit wonderfully against the beautiful patina to the metal work. The action is in good working order and locks back on half and full cock. The barrel measures 8 3/4 inches (22cm).

Chambered in an obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
