Product Information

This, Enfield two band percussion musket, Circa 1860, has two sets of regiment markings on the barrel, both being to the same regiment. The initials SK were only used by The Suffolk Regiment. The letter H many stand for Hussars or Horse, and the letter V for Volunteer. On the lock just visible is the Enfield name and the Crown over VR . The shorter two band muskets, like this one are more commonly referred to as "Sergeant's" carbine or muskets, the longer three bands issued to infantry. They were used during the many colonial conflicts, including with the East Indian Company and most famously during the US Civil War (1861-1865). Still in great condition, the wood work has a lovely grain and metal work a deep patina and hasn't been over cleaned or restored.

Chambered in a antique obsolete calibre this percussion musket can be owned live without any form of license. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
