Product Information

This is a European 5 shot Velo-Dog revolver chambered in .340 (obsolete calibre). It dates to the late 19th century. The Velo-Dog was a revolver originally created in France in the late 1800s. The name "Velo-Dog" comes from the portmanteau of the words "Velocipede" and "Dog"  and as the name suggests it was used to defend cyclists on their velocipedes, who were likely to be set upon by wild ferocious dogs. It corporates a lever safety on the left side of the frame and folding trigger to avoid accidental discharge. The grips are mother of pearl. Just visible are the makers initals and period proof markings. It measures just over 5 inches from the tip of the barrel to the rear of the frame and has a full working action. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.

Chambered in an obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
