Product Information

This is a Martini Henry artillery carbine chambered in its original .577/450 calibre. This example looks to have had a very interesting past. The brass disc shows that it was issued to the 2nd Durham Artillery Volunteer , "3 97" is either the date March, 1897 or the weapon number. At some stage during its service life, whilst overseas, it fell into the hands of a gorilla or militia group. The 7 notches cut into the under side of the foregrip are most commonly associated with kills recorded by the owner. British & Common Wealth soldiers were forbidden from marking their service weapons in this manor and would have suffered severe reprimand if found to have done so. A fascinating little carbine.

This carbine is chambered in an obsolete calibre and can therefore be owned live without any form of license. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. The action is still tight and crisp.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
