Product Information

This is an original 1816 French Cavalry percussion pistol. Originally this pistol was a flintlock and during the 1850s it would have been converted to percussion, still retaining its correct ram rod and lanyard hoop. On the underside of the wood work is the initials "JH", these are most likely the owners. During the US Civil War quantities of these pistols were sold to the Confederates and Union armies. The initials do look to be from this period and similar markings have been found on civil war guns. The action is still crisp and tight holding back firmly on half and full cock .

Chambered in an obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
