Product Information

This is a rare 1886 dated Mauser model 1871/84, manufactured by Erfurt that used during the Boxer Rebellion War (1899 to 1901). The war the fought between the Yihequan and Qing dynasty against the Eight Nation Alliance; England, Germany, Japan, Russia, France, USA, Italy & Austro-Hungary. On the stock of this rifle there are two sets of Chinese markings that have been scrubbed out. The German regiment stamps found on the metal butt plate have also been removed. German forces were armed with the M71/84 and supplied them to pro Alliance Chinese forces. Rifles used during the war saw extensive use. A very interesting and well traveled rifle.

Erfurt manufactured 71/84s are far less common and this example has no letter suffix in the serial number and is around number 4325th from that years production. Chambered in an obsolete calibre this rifle can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and is not deactivated in any way. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
