This is an American manufactured Colt 1851 Navy .36 percussion revolver that was shipped to Colt's London establishment to be sold in the UK. It bears UK proof stamps only. It would have been shipped at the request from Colt London to fulfill orders. Most were sold to serving British officers. Colt London only made 42,000 model 1851 Navy revolvers ceasing production in 1857. This is rare find as the vast majority of US manufactured 1851s would normally be sold in the US. A superb example with all matching numbers. The action is still extremely tight, crisp and indexes perfectly every time. A real collectors piece.

Chambered in an antique obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.
