Product Information

This is a rare Tranter second model .54 Bore double action percussion revolver. This actual revolver, serial number 2123 appears in the book " William Tranter, Birmingham 1849 -1890 by Wolfgang Berk. This revolver being the earliest recorded serial number of this model without any letter suffix at the time of publication. William Tranter is considered to be one of the most important manufactures of firearms during the second half of the 19th century, with his designs and patents being used by countless other gun manufactures. This revolver was retailed by Deane & Son, 30 King William Street, London Bridge and dates to the mid 1850s. Deane & Son were well-renowned gunmakers, appointed as gunmakers to Prince Albert in 1848, and exhibited at the Great Exhibition in 1851.

This historic revolver can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. The bore is very good order and the action works smoothly indexing after each cycle.

It is not deactivated in any way and is being sold as a collectors piece only.
