Rare & Unusual Beaumont - Adams Type Revolver

Product Information

This is a beautifully hand crafted Beaumont-Adams type revolver, circa 1860s to 1870s. It has a five shot capacity and is chambered in .44. The overall design is very similar to that of the Beaumont-Adams revolvers from this period. However, this revolver has some very unique and unusual design features. The hammer strikes a spring loaded firing pin housed within a nut. When cocking the hammer back the firing pin moves back just enough to clear the chambers and thus allowing it to cycle. Very clever. It also features a unique cartridge extraction rod and plunger mechanism. This type of system was normally mounted on the opposite side of revolvers and was often a far simpler design. There is no obvious makers mark but it has British proof stamps on the barrel, frame and cylinders. We can not find another example like it and this leads us to believe that it maybe one of only a handful produced or possible even a one-off.

The overall condition is still very good and completely original. The bore and chambers are in good condition.

A real collectors piece and rare revolver. It has a full working and will cocked, stripped and dry fire.

It is not deactivated in any way and is being sold as a collectors piece only.
