Product Information

This is a rare first year of production US made Winchester model 1886 under lever repeating rifle. The serial number 1424, is from the first year of manufacture (1886). Serial numbers started from 1 and finished at 3211. This rifle being number one thousand, four hundred and twenty forth of that year!! The model 1886 was another brilliant design from the legendary gun maker Mr John Browning which proved to be a very successful and strong action capable of chambering some of the most powerful ammunition from that period. The original models were available in three different calibres, .45-70, .45-90 and .40-82 WCF (Winchester Centre Fire) cartridges. This example is chambered in its original .40-82 WCF and has a 26inch octagonal barrel.  Considering this rifle is 131 years old its still in good working order with a firm action, but more importantly it is chambered in a now obsolete calibre and can therefore be owned live without any form of license.

A real collectors piece and rarely seen in the UK. It has a full working and will cocked, stripped and dry fire.

It is not deactivated in any way and is being sold as a collectors piece only.
