Product Information

This is a rare Enfield, Snider Cavalry carbine chambered in .577. This particular example was made during the late 1860s early 1870s in Belgium and is reputed to have been used in South African during the Boer Wars. It has a unique hand made steel plate screwed to the rear of the action. It may serve as a repair or to ad strength to the stock. The lock bears the Royal Cypher of Queen Victoria. The Snider was used by British and Common Wealth forces before being replaced by the Martini Henry rifle. It proved to be a very effective and reliable rifle.

The rifling in the bore is in superb condition and the action works perfectly.

Chambered in an obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
