Product Information

A Swiss Vetterli Rifle, M1869/71, chambered in 10.4x38 with rare centrefire conversion. Manufactured by Soc ind. Suisse Syst. Vetterli . These rifles are superbly made and were hugely powerful. At the time the design represented a significant advance in European military technology. Its firepower significantly outstripped that of any rifle in regular military service of the day. The Vetterli striker has a forked firing pin which passes through two firing pins holes in the bolt face for a double strike on the rimfire cartridge, improving the likelihood of ignition. A very clever design. On the top of the stock are the Swiss regiment markings (D4+C1).

This lovely rifle with virtaully all matching numbers can be owned live without any form of license. It has a full working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.

It is not deactivated in any way and is being sold as a collectors piece only.
