Product Information

This is the Model 1863 Starr Single Action Army Revolver, in .44 calibre . During the U.S. Civil War the United States Government had a contract for 25,000 of these reliable large frame army type revolvers, as well as state contracts and private purchases which are considered scarcer.  The serial numbering was a continuance of the Starr Double Action revolvers, with these single actions going into the 60,000 range. This example is serial number 52230 and has all visible numbers matching. Starr's Patent Jan 15, 1856 on right side of the frame and on left side is "Starr Arms Co. , New York".

This example has a lovely patina to the finish and has a perfect working action that indexes every time.

Chambered in an obsolete calibre it can be owned live without any form of license.

It is being sold as a collectors piece only.
