Product Information

This is one of the more scarce variants from the WWII Lee Enfield No4 MKI family. In 1941 after the Lend Lease arrangement had been agreed between the UK and US Goverrnments, US & Canadian arms manufacturers Savage and Long Branch started production of the Lee Enfield No4 MKI .303 rifle. During the early stages of production the design of the receiver was changed and simplified to speed up production. The bolt release catch was omitted from the design and a slot added to the bolt head rail for bolt removal. The rifles designation was then changed from MKI to MKI*. This rifle is one of only an estimated 132,800 MKI rifles produced during the initial run before the change over to the MKI* was implemented.
