Product Information

This is a WWII Sten MK5 manufactured by ROF - Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley. The serial number on the magazine housing denotes Fazakerley manufacture. The sling hoop is positioned the top of the stock, this would indicate use by Airbourne troops or Commando's. This particular Sten has both the MKV and MK5 designations on the magazine housing. We suspect this part was made prior to November 1944 and then completed after this dated when the "MK5" designation was first introduced.

The MK5 was first introduced in early 1944, and is essentially a better quality version of the MK2, using the same magazine port and body, magazine and similar bolt assembly. New additions were, wooden stock, pistol grip, No4 foresight and a wooden vertical foregrip. Plus a bayonet attachment. The foregrip was often removed as it was prone to breakages, and eventually discontinued for the same reason.

Deactivated to current specifications with moving bolt assemble and trigger. The magazine housing rotates and the bolt can be pulled and back and will return under spring tension. Comes fitted with an original wartime sling, wartime bayonet and inert 9mm rounds.
